Calcium Chloride Desiccant — NW Series, 2 g to 250 g

High-capacity moisture control

Calcium chloride desiccant is the format to specify when silica gel is not enough. Where our silica gel takes up 30–40% of its own weight under test conditions, the NW series absorbs 200–300% of its own weight under test conditions. Same sachet concept, far more moisture held.

Read that number with its qualifier attached. Absorption is quoted under test conditions, and actual performance varies with temperature, humidity, how well the enclosure is sealed, and how long protection must last. We size sachets to your application rather than quote a figure in isolation.

Shenzhen Sisuobo Desiccant Co., Ltd. manufactures the NW series under the Absorb King and Ensobo brands. The parent company, Shenzhen Absorb King Desiccant Co., Ltd., was founded in 2007; Sisuobo was established in 2014 as a branch. We run two plants in Jiangmen, Guangdong, with more than 10,000 m² of production space, 100+ machines and supporting units, and an annual production capacity of 10,000+ tonnes. Our products ship to 45 countries and regions.

The NW series range

The NW series covers sachet weights from 2 g to 250 g, at 99.8% purity. Tell us the gram weight you need and we will confirm availability and quote exact dimensions.

One documented example: NW-10g measures 10.5 × 10.5 cm, is packed 20 pcs per bag and 700 pcs per carton. It is a useful reference point for buyers estimating carton counts and pallet layouts before a full specification is locked.

Double-layer leak-proof construction

Calcium chloride holds a large volume of moisture, so the packaging has to contain it across the whole protection window. That is the engineering problem the NW series is built around. The sachet uses a two-layer construction:

  • Inner layer — US TYVEK white film plus PET film, forming the containment barrier.
  • Outer layer — non-woven composite breathable film, allowing moisture vapor to reach the desiccant while holding the contents in place.

The combination is why the NW series is suited to longer shipments and higher humidity routes, where a single-layer sachet would be the weak point. If your product sits directly against the sachet, or if the carton may be stacked and handled repeatedly, say so in the enquiry — it affects how we quote the build.

Operating temperature

The NW series is rated for use from −5°C to 90°C. Performance is not flat across that band: cold slows moisture pickup, and heat accelerates it. If your shipment passes through temperature extremes, or if you are packing frozen or heat-treated goods, tell us the profile and we will size accordingly.

Usage guidance

  • Match the sachet to the enclosed volume and the moisture load, not to the weight of the goods alone.
  • Keep the enclosure as sealed as practical. Desiccants manage moisture inside a package; they do not compensate for an open one.
  • Do not puncture, cut, or open sachets.
  • Leave sachets in their original sealed packaging until the moment of use, and reseal partly used bags.
  • Do not place sachets inside a barrier bag that blocks vapor contact with the product being protected.
  • For long transit routes with repeated humidity swings, size up rather than hope.
  • Send us the details and we will do the sizing for you.

Compliance and documentation

Documentation available on request includes ISO 9001, RoHS, REACH, DMF Free, FDA, MSDS, BSCI, and GMP. We can issue the MSDS with your quotation.

Matching the NW weight to the job

Size the sachet to the enclosure, then confirm with a sample. The small end of the NW range — 2 g to about 10 g — suits individual cartons, inner boxes, and single items where space is tight. Mid-range weights cover larger cartons and grouped inner packs. The larger weights, up to 250 g, can be considered for pallet-level or container spot use where a pouched sachet is preferred over a hanging format; confirm sizing with a sample. For whole-container protection, specify the dedicated container desiccants instead: Dry Bag (DB-1000G), Dry Strip (DS-1400g, DS-2000g, DS-1000G), and Dry Pole (DP-1000gX5, DP-1000G). NW-10g, at 10.5 × 10.5 cm with 20 pcs per bag and 700 pcs per carton, is a useful reference for carton and pallet planning. The NW series operates from -5°C to 90°C.

Storage and disposal

Calcium chloride draws moisture from ambient air, so keep sachets in their sealed outer packaging until the moment of use, and reseal part-used bags immediately. Store in a dry, ventilated place away from direct sunlight, moisture, and sharp edges that could puncture the double-layer film. Do not open sachets by hand. Spent sachets should be disposed of according to local regulations and are not intended for reuse; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
